While taking measurements it is very important to be dressed in light clothing and wear a bra. If you plan to wear a push-up bra at the celebration then you have to take your measurements having such a bra on you.
Pay your attention! You have to put a tape-line to your body tightly, but still in such a way that you could put your index finger under it.
To define your measurements accurately you will need a tape-line, and somebody's help will be necessary for you.
Measurements must be taken at the most protruding spots of the shoulder-blades, through axillae, when taken from the back; and at the most protruding spots of the breast when taken from the front. Your arms must hang down! A tape-line must be neither strained nor weakened. While enclosing it must be held with a thumb and index finger.
To take your waist girth you have to lay a tape-line on your back, then on the narrowest side part of your body, and enclose the line at the front holding it with a thumb and index finger. The index finger is situated under the tape-line.
Taking hip girth measurements you have to lay a tape-line on the most protruding spots of the buttocks and hips. Enclose the tape-line at the front holding it with a thumb and index finger.
To take this measurement you have to lay a tape-line through the most protruding spots of the shoulder-blades, then through the axillae, and then enclose the tape-line under the breast. A measuring person’s index finger must be situated under the tape-line.
To define this measurement you have to decide first on what distance from your axillae the corset will begin. The beginning of a tape-line must be put on this point first. Then the tape-line must be lowered along the side of the body to the point where you want the corset to end and the skirt to begin.
This measurement is defined like the previous one. The beginning of the corset must be defined, a tape-line is put on it, then the tape-line is lowered along the side of the body through the waist line to the floor. Take this measurement in wedding shoes to take into account heel height. For the models with puffy skirts 4-5 cm must be added to the derived measurements (for rings to the floor).
If you have chosen wedding dress with sleeves, you have to take some additional measurements:
|Sleeve length: |
First you have to bend your arm in elbow slightly, then find the point of the shoulder and arm joining. Define sleeve length measurement at the bent arm starting from this point to the wrist line.
Measure the distance from the point of the neck bottom to the point of the shoulder and arm joining.
A tape-line is put around the widest part of the arm in the area of axillae.
A tape-line is put around the narrowest part of the arm.
